In the Fullness of Summer

Back to Gallery

In the fullness of summer one seed grows into a woman
who rises up to meet her lover in a warm embrace.

I have used images of the sun and plants to represent
an organic, inevitable, natural growth of
love between a man and woman.

This quilt portrays my ideal of
a creative, romantic, dynamic partnership
between soulmates.
It was inspired by the relationship and creative imagery
of the Scottish artist Margaret MacDonald MacKintosh
and her architect-husband Charles Rennie MacKintosh.

The frame was designed and made by John Rose.
